Freki & Geri Torc, Bronze

A wholly handmade, twisted Viking torc in solid bronze ending in in the heads of Geri and Freki (Old Norse both meaning "the ravenous" or "greedy one") - the two wolves which accompanied the Norse god Odin.

Worn around the neck, the torc is a rigid neck ring in metal that is usually open at the front. Torcs were a popular piece of jewelry during the Viking Age, but they were also found among a variety of other cultures.
