Hufa, Padded Hood, Black

This thick quilted, padded hood is to be worn under a helmet to offer comfort and maximize protection.

Wearing some form of padding under a helmet necessary in combat. While the metal protects against cuts, the padding effectively absorbs the force of the blow. Wearing a helmet without any padding at all would cause severe blunt trauma.

Even though there are no archaeological evidence that points at what form of padding Vikings used, it is still safe to assume that they used something.

Make sure to order a large enough helmet to fit the padded cap. You can also remove the default lining inside the helmet to create more space.
