Handmade reconstruction of the Germanic lyre found in grave no. 84 in Berlin. The Oberflacht lyre is very similar to the Trossingen Lyre, except for that it doesn't have the same, exact shape, or the sound holes.
The lyre is an ancient instrument. The earliest known examples of the lyre have been recovered at archaeological sites that date to c. 2700 BCE in Mesopotamia.
