The Story

FREE WORLDWIDE SHIPPING

If you are looking for top quality Viking footwear that can withstand heavy usage, then look no further! These shoes are made with the same, meticulous craftsmanship as handmade modern shoes. The quality even allows them to be used during winter re-enactment marching.

These shoes are inspired by a find in Hedeby, Denmark, with the characteristic straps and antler toggles of the time. Viking Age shoes lasted only up to 6 months, so we’ve upgraded the boots with tough, modern rubber soles that come with a heel. This makes them quite popular also as modern day footwear!

The leather is untreated. If you will use them in wet conditions, it is a good idea to use leather dubbin to protect them.

  • Period: 800 AD to 1066 AD - works also well as modern day shoes
  • Material: Leather, antler and rubber
  • Adjustable toggles
  • Color: Black
  • Rubber sole with heel
  • Thickness of upper leather: 2-3 mm
  • Handmade and therefore slight variations may occur.
  • Viking shoes are generally not as wide as modern shoes. Learn more in the Additional Information section
